Put Simply:
Our methodology and delivery approach are standardized across many engagements—and so are the workstreams used to organize the work. By allowing scoped work items to be pre-populated with configurable workstreams, we can improve consistency, reduce setup time, and ensure smoother handoff to delivery tools like Jira or Planner.
Why It Matters:
Reinforces methodology: Workstreams mirror how we structure and deliver work in practice. Pre-populating them aligns scope with real-world execution.
Improves scoping efficiency: Saves time by assigning common workstreams automatically, especially in high-volume, repeatable engagement types.
Supports practice-specific needs: Different practices can define and manage their own default workstreams, giving the system flexibility.
Enables cleaner delivery tool integration: When scope is activated, syncing workstream assignments into Jira, Planner, etc. improves setup and execution continuity.
Reduces user friction: Teams can still customize the defaults as needed, but start with a sensible foundation.
What’s Needed:
Optional “Workstream” field on scoped work items.
Practice-level configuration of default workstreams and mappings.
UI support to review and adjust workstream values during scoping.
Integration logic to sync workstream metadata into connected delivery tools at the time of scope activation.
Admin Portal 2.0 configuration interface to manage workstream lists and mappings per practice.
