If you go to Deliverables > Status filter > uncheck a status in the Status filter, rows with that status will incorrectly show if a parent or child rows matches one of the checked the statuses.
For example, in the READ ME FIRST pic attached, the Completed status is unchecked. However, 100s of rows with Status = Completed continue to show because (1) the Parent row status = In Progress and (2) In Progress is checked in the Status menu. This is a design flaw.
The current design means that the only time Concourse will filter out Completed rows is if EVERY parent and child row in that line of the tree is Completed.
As a project manager I want to filter out what has been done so I can manage the remaining tasks and complete my project on time.
Solution Summary
The logic should be enhanced at a minimum to HIDE child rows that do not have children and do not have a status checked in the Status filter. i.e. Hide the Completed rows in this scenario
We are enhancing the filter results page in the Redesigned Deliverables page, so that users can only see the most relevant information!
Current Behavior:
If Child(Task/ Subtask) satisfies a filter criteria; we show the child along with the Parent (Deliverable/ Task) [as child is always tagged to a parent]
If the Parent satisfies a filter criteria we show all the children [even when children do not satisfy the criteria- irrelevant info]
We are now modifying the behavior, so that only relevant information is visible.
Updated Behavior:
If Child satisfies a filter criteria; we will show the child along with the Parent (as before)
If the Parent satisfies a filter criteria; we will NOT show all the children
We will only show those children that satisfies the filter criteria [relevant info]
Attached is an example of the existing and redesigned filter behavior for reference (based on the example provided by the user)
Thank you again for the feedback!
The filters on the Deliverables page were designed based on feedback we received from our pilot users.
However, the current filtering experience doesn't solve the user's goal of trying to identify specific work items.
We will be re-designing the filter experience as part of our upcoming quarterly release and will address this design flaw.
