Estimation in Scoping | Estimate Summary

Put Simply: After completing estimation inputs, users view a summary of estimated effort, staff mix, and the optimized cost to deliver — with visual breakdowns for clarity.

Acceptance Criteria:

These ACs reflect the current state of ePro's summary page, but should be reimagined to deliver more actionable insights, better visual clarity, and a stronger link between input decisions and estimated outcomes.

  • Summary Cards display high-level results:

    • Total Effort (hours)

    • Total Headcount

    • Estimated Resource Cost (optimized baseline, not pricing)

    • Savings from Accelerators (in hours, headcount, and cost)

  • Visualizations include:

    • Staff Mix Chart (e.g., Domestic vs. Acceleration Center)

    • Accelerator Usage Meter

    • (Future) Additional visuals such as role mix, cost distribution over time, etc.

  • Estimate Summary Tabs allow users to drill into:

    • Work Items

    • Offerings

    • Drivers

    • Complexity Matrix

    • Rate Table

  • Resource Breakdown supports flexible views:

    • Toggle between views by Team, Staff Type, PwC Level, and LoS

    • Show breakdown of Resource Split, Headcount, Effort, and Resource Cost

  • Summary is automatically updated based on the most recent estimation inputs (e.g., team structure, drivers, accelerators).

  • Page supports read-only review for submission or export (Excel file).

This work is being considered as part of the new ePro strategy and will be incorporated into the official ePro rebuild. To keep efforts aligned, we are consolidating feedback rather than managing independent ideas alongside the rebuild. If you'd like to discuss this further, feel free to reach out to me by email at david.martinez@pwc.com or via Teams.
