Currently Concourse has integration with Jira but the integration is with the Concourse issue types within Jira and not the Jira issue types. Therefore, unless Concourse issue types are used to track all progress within Jira, the integration essentially is broken. The SAP practice has customized a Jira SAP template in order to refine the tracking and reporting capabilities - we have many custom issue types with custom data attributes/fields and custom workflows. These are all critical to our ability to use Jira. Given the rising requirements to use Concourse to its fullest potential, the desire to ensure that Jira status is synced with Concourse status is high. Unfortunately there is no link between the two when Jira issue types are being used. The Jira team has looked into leveraging plugins such as Backbone and Automation for Jira but neither look to be a promising solution. The alternative workaround would be highly manual and therefore create much room for error.
