Accelerators (AI vs. Non-AI)

Put Simply Statement:
Assign opt-in or opt-out savings by work item and distinguish between AI and non-AI tools.

Why it Matters:
Supports margin management and provides visibility into AI’s impact on project delivery and profitability.

What’s Needed:

  • Fields to track accelerator usage and savings at the work item level.

  • UI for tagging work items as AI/non-AI.

  • Reporting on accelerator impact.

  • Early ACs:

    • Work items can be tagged with accelerator and AI status.

    • Savings from accelerators are automatically factored into estimates.

    • Users can opt in or out per work item.

    Hey Garrett, I've tagged to the ADO link the JIRA idea that we have that relates to this. I think your vision here is on point. There is a parity gap if we don't do this, and users are also expecting this functionality, to make sure that the estimate is more accurate and to account for this, as margins can change depending on this.

    Marking this in review status - as we are actively working to see how far we extend and implement this.
